    Getting Started With C#

The programming language FXCM have chosen to use for their new Strategy Trader platform is C#. This is yet another objected-oriented language, as is MQL5. It is currently still in beta testing, and FXCM have not yet released any tutorials about how to get started using it.

The C# language was created by Microsoft, and they have produced a tutorial on the language entitled "C# for Sharp Kids". You may well no longer consider yourself to be a kid, but nonetheless if you're looking for a comparatively easy to understand introduction to objected-oriented programming in general, and C# in particular, it's worth a look. You can view the tutorial online, or alternatively download the e-book.

    Hi,
It seems to sound very reasonable. Using a standards or verified solutions should give every time positive results.
For what to open already opened door? I think, I would like the idea to use C++ or C# instead of something similar to it.
I am corious, if the Microsoft framework of the C# is there obligatory, or if there could be e.g. Borland's C# Builder taken into consideration? I would say, it depends on libraries. Do one know, if FXCM deliver their own libraries or there are e.g. Microsoft
    libraries obligatory?
I am not a specialist in this matter, but I have heard that Borland's development enviroment is a little bit more comfortable.
For sure, it depends also on that, of using which product one have got into the habit.

    Hi Stan,

I used to use Turbo Pascal back in the mists of time, and I bought Delphi 1 as soon as it was released. I too prefer what used to be Borland's development environment, and so did Bill Gates. He made Anders Hejlsberg an offer he couldn't refuse to move from Borland to Microsoft, where he became the chief architect of C#.

Unfortunately Embarcadero C# Builder is no longer with us, but fear not! FXCM Strategy Trader comes complete with it's own IDE and Visual C# runtimes enough to allow you to happily build Strategy Advisors (which is what FXCM call "robots") without you needing to bother with Visual Studio itself, unless of course you really want to!
