    VPS Provider

    Hello,

So I'm developing an EA to trade with Alpari UK and I want the added security of trading via a VPS (dodgy internet connection) and I want to isolate my live and testing instances.

There are a vast number of VPS suppliers suitable for running my EA on and I'm having trouble choosing one.

Could anyone recommend someone they have personally used and are happy with. I'm only really looking for VPS's located in the UK.

    Thanks

OK, just so I don't leave this thread hanging, I'll let you know what I've decided for the time being.

If you're technically savvy - https://www.windowsazure.com have a bargain Extra Small package for only $9.36/month (servers in Germany I believe) and the first 90 days are totally free (i'm currently testing this)

These were the other contenders, please keep in mind I haven't personally tested them, they just looked like what I was after...

http://www.umbeehosting.co.uk/vps-ho...s-vps-hosting/ - I almost pushed the button with this one before I looked in to Azure. I couldn't find anything wrong with their base package. I may still use them if Azure doesn't work out

http://www.commercialnetworkservices.com/ - seem popular among traders and have a trader package, servers are in the same data-centre as Alpari so latency is very low. In the end I couldn't stand to give my money to people with such a shoddy website (what a snob)

http://www.uk2.net/vps-cloud-hosting/ - Again, seem very good their servers for £20 a month would do the job

    Hi Scrivna,

Personally I like Rackspace UK. Linux as well as windows, and dedicated as well as virtually cloudy. Cheap they are not however!

I also happen to know a hedge fund that happily use the Amazon cloud, which is somewhat more attractively priced, but does go down occasionally!

    Hi Scrivna,

I personaly use CNS (helpdesk.commercialnetworkservices.net/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticl eid=174 here is a list of brokers with ping times from your server to brokers server). I use it for 2 years already and no issues so far.
